Hi, I’m Wali!
I moved to Nome from the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. I was born in Islamabad, Pakistan, and have called Philly home since 2019.
I graduated in December 2023 with a degree in Journalism – I spent the earlier half of my college career as a content writer for Temple University’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Office. The latter half of my degree was gaining experience as a reporter and assistant producer for TUTV’s (Temple University) flagship news show – Temple Update.
I honed my Multimedia reporting skills in my role at Temple Update, producing weekly news packages for events in and around Temple University. I gained a passion for Multimedia storytelling, and I’m immensely excited to bring those skills to KNOM!
I want to immerse myself in Nome – its culture, history, and people. It is an absolute privilege to report in Western Alaska!
