Indigenous Peoples Day

Nome residents gathered at Nome’s Recreation Center to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, October 12. The Village of Solomon has organized the event for the last 7 years with support from Kawerak.

This year’s event featured performances from the King Island and Nome-St. Lawrence Island dance groups, a potluck with native foods including dried salmon and muktuk, a fashion show and a comedy show by Navajo comedian Marc Yaffe.
