Hello friends!
It’s been a little while since I’ve written, so I wanted to take a moment to say hello and share a few updates about what’s happening at KNOM.
October is always an exciting month for us. We’ve turned it into our “fun”-draising month, and this year we’ll be hosting our third KNOM Music Festival! Our News Director recently informed me that, according to AP style, once something happens three times, it can officially be considered an annual event. So, I’m very excited to say that we are now preparing for our annual KNOM Music Festival! Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans in mind and is gifting us with a significant weather event, so we’ve had to postpone the festival until November 6-7. It was a tough decision, but for everyone’s safety, we’re confident it was the right one.
We also have some exciting changes coming to the way people can support KNOM. In December, we’ll share more information in a flyer about a new partnership that will make several types of giving easier and more secure. We hope it will make the giving process simpler for you—and for us, too!
We’ve also had a staffing change at KNOM. Quinn has moved on from her role as Community Relations Manager, and we are grateful for all of her hard work during her time with us. At the same time, we’re very excited to welcome back former KNOM volunteer and staff member Karen Trop. You’ll also begin seeing contributions from her in upcoming issues of the Static.
There is always something happening at KNOM, and I’m grateful to have all of you along for the journey. Thank you for your continued encouragement, generosity, and friendship.
With gratitude,
Miranda
