Here’s what’s coming up this week on the KNOM Community Calendar:
Monday night the Nome Common Council is set to reconvene for the first time in a month. There’s a few interesting things on the agenda, including a “State of the Schools” presentation by Nome Public Schools Superintendent Jamie Burgess.
We’re also expecting updates on a cover for Nome’s ice rink, potentially temporarily reallocating funding set aside for the port expansion project, and the status of negotiations between the city and it’s employee union.
The council will also be briefed on this year’s Christmas Extravaganza, which is set for Wednesday December 4th at Old St. Joes. KNOM will be providing an exclusive livestream of the event here on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
Saturday the Nome Preschool is hosting a Holiday Bazaar at Nome Elementary. That’s set to start at 11 a.m. and feature handcrafted goods.
It’s a bit of a quiet week on the KNOM Community Calendar with Thanksgiving on Thursday. If we missed anything, head to knom.org/calendar to submit it. Enjoy your time with family and friends and we’ll see you next week.
