In the third episode of Dearest Alaska, we are traveling out to St. Lawrence Island and will experience Operation Santa Claus with the community of Savoonga.
Santa and his helpers from the National Guard flew to Savoonga in late October to bring ice cream, music, presents, and Christmas cheer. Much of the town turned out to experience all that was offered at the local school, where the big event took place. It was such a joyous day, and we are excited to share it with all of you.
Dearest Alaska is a new audio project; the program will be available on this website and broadcast live on the first Saturday and Sunday of every month at 12noon and 5pm on KNOM (96.1 FM, 780 AM).
