When it comes to medal count, Team Alaska is dominating the competition after two days at the Arctic Winter Games in Nuuk, Greenland.
Alaska leads all nine nations with 40 medals. That’s a dozen more than the second-place competitor, Team Yukon.
On Tuesday, Tim James of Nome won his second award of the tournament by taking bronze in Junior Men’s Stick Pull. His first medal came with a second-place place finish in Snow Snake.
Nome’s Wilson Hoogendorn also earned a spot on the podium. He won the bronze medal in Junior Men’s Biathlon Ski, clocking a time of just under 37 minutes.
Team Alaska is back in action on Wednesday. The state’s athletes will compete in more than a dozen sports, including skiing, Arctic Sports, and Dene Games.
