Port Commission to Discuss Cape Nome Repairs and Arctic Chinook Drill

The Nome Port Commission meets tonight to discuss updates on bids to repair the Cape Nome Jetty.

The repairs were up for bid earlier this year, but there was only one offer, and it far exceeded available funding. The bid package has been revised and reopened, with offers due by August 1.

The Port Commission is also expected to hear an update on the Arctic Chinook drill from City Manager Tom Moran, who traveled to Anchorage last month for the final planning meeting.

The Arctic Chinook field training exercises will be held in Tin City and Kotzebue from August 22nd to the 25th.

The Port Commission meets at City Hall tonight at 5:30 pm.
