Brent Sass Still in First Position, Dallas Seavey and Travis Beals Have Reached Halfway Checkpoint in Iditarod

Brent Sass is still in first position in the 2021 Iditarod, but Dallas Seavey and Travis Beals have both reached the halfway checkpoint in Iditarod.

Brent Sass, Aaron Peck, and Mille Porsild have all opted to take their 24 hour layover in Iditarod time. Dallas Seavey and Travis Beals have both reached the halfway checkpoint as well, and both mushers already completed their 24 hour layover earlier in McGrath. So far, however, no mushers have left Iditarod.

There are currently 21 mushers on the trail between Ophir and Iditarod, and all of them have completed their 24 layovers, with a handful of those mushers (including Ryan Redington, Aaron Burmeister, Michelle Phillips, Paige Drobny, and Matt Hall) having completed both their 8 and 24 hour layovers.
