As we move into November, I can hardly believe the holidays are nearly upon us. First, we’ll observe Veterans Day which is a day that holds deep personal meaning for me. My daughter is part of a Gold Star family, and my husband continues to serve in the Air National Guard after his years of active duty in the Army. To all who have served: thank you for your sacrifice and dedication.
Thanksgiving is also quickly approaching, and I find myself reflecting on all that I’m grateful for. In my personal life, I have a wonderful husband and family, and the best friends a person could ask for. Professionally, I feel so fortunate to do what I love every day, and to work alongside a staff that is incredibly dedicated to the mission. A big part of what makes this work so meaningful is you—our incredible supporters. We may not have official data to prove it, but in my heart, I know KNOM has the best supporters in the world.
Next month, I’ll share more about Typhoon Halong, its devastating impact on Western Alaska, and KNOM’s role in preparation and response. But for today, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for all that you do for KNOM, and the people of Western Alaska.
With the deepest gratitude,
Miranda
