Language Roundtable

Seven Indigenous language speakers gathered in Nome for a KNOM-hosted roundtable to celebrate and preserve the rich dialects of Western Alaska. Participants shared introductions in English and their native tongues, representing Yup’ik, Inupiaq, and Siberian Yupik, while exchanging stories and traditions. The group also recorded videos for KNOM’s “Living Legacies” project, showcasing different pronunciations and phrases, and can be found on KNOM’s Youtube channel.
