We hope you’re doing alright after last week’s icy conditions. Speaking of, the Family Fun Night scheduled for last week has been bumped to Monday night. That kicks off at 6:00 p.m. over at Nome Elementary School.
Also at Nome Elementary School, the second graders are putting on the play, “The Tale of the Gingerbread Man” in the gym at 1:00 p.m. Visitors are invited to stick around afterwards for Christmas cookies and juice.
Wednesday night we’ve got a double header with a Strait Science webinar on muskox movements... and misconceptions. That starts on Zoom or in-person at the UAF NW campus at 6:30 p.m.
Also Wednesday night, the Nome Covenant Church is putting on a piano concert featuring performers of all skill levels. That kicks off at the church at 7:00 p.m. and includes Christmas carols, hymns, folk music, and classical pieces.
Thursday night Norton Sound is hosting a craft circle over at their Wellness & Training Center (just across from the hospital). That’ll go from 6-8 p.m.
Friday at 1:00 p.m. Norton Sound Health Corporation is putting on a Holiday Bazaar over at the hospital. That’ll run from 1 to 5 p.m.
Saturday from 11 am. to 4 p.m. there will also be a last-chance Bazaar at Old St. Joes. Local musicians are also invited to stop by and play to make the event extra special.
Earlier that morning, kiddos are invited to stop by Nome Elementary school for a special breakfast with Santa event. That runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
It’s a huge weekend for the Nanooks with the boys and girls teams taking on Kodiak right here in Nome. JV is set to get the action started at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by the Lady Nanooks at 7 p.m. and the boys team at 8:30 p.m. A second round of games is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
Also this weekend, Nome-Beltz is sending an astounding seven athletes to the state meet. We’ll bring you results from that as soon as we have them.

Thursday we’ve got a Serum Run planning meeting thats set to begin on Zoom at noon. There will also be a Strait Science on Bering Strait ship traffic, that starts at 6:30 p.m. also on Zoom.
Friday night is day one of the Mid-December Bazaar hosted by XYZ Senior Center. It’ll be open Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Finally, on Saturday the Nome Beltz Wrestling team will travel to Kotzebue for the Northern Conference Tourney.
