Dear Friend…(End-of-Year 2024)

In Alaska, the Winter Solstice is a unique and important time of year. It happens on December 21st, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year. Because Alaska is so far north, the effects of the solstice are very noticeable.

For Christians, the Winter Solstice is important because it is close to Christmas. Christmas is when Christians remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who is called the “Light of the World.” Just like the Solstice brings back more sunlight, Jesus brings hope and light to the world. In this way, the Solstice and Christmas share a message about light overcoming darkness.

KNOM Radio Mission is the light in remote Western Alaska by offering uplifting connection between communities through thoughtful programming to some of the most isolated parts of Alaska. Thank YOU for YOUR devotion and sacrifice to help bring light and hope to Alaska. KNOM is blessed every day by your kindness, generosity, and most importantly your friendship. If you have prayer intentions, or would simply like to say hello, we would love to hear from you.
