“O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” is such a beautiful song during Advent! When that song begins in Church, it’s as though Advent has officially started, inviting everyone into a spirit of hope and waiting.
As we start the new liturgical year, Cycle C, the readings focus on the Gospel of Luke. Luke’s Gospel tells stories about Jesus’ love and kindness, especially for people who need help, feel left out or forgotten. During Advent, we get ready to celebrate Jesus’ birth at Christmas and think about how we can be kind and caring, just like him.
