An 18-year-old Shaktoolik resident has died in a kayaking accident.
According to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch, Ricky Paniptchuk drowned on August 26 while kayaking. Troopers received the report of his death at approximately 2:54 a.m. that morning.
His remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office, and next of kin has been notified.
No further details were released regarding the incident.
