The deadline to submit suggestions for changes to the Federal Subsistence Management Program’s regulations is May 21. As residents of the area grapple with subsistence food insecurity due to climate and regulatory changes, the suggestion form offers people the opportunity to voice their concerns.
Regulatory changes in fishing and shellfish harvesting seasons, harvest limits, methods, and proposals for customary and traditional use determinations are up for suggestions. These regulations apply to fish and shellfish on federal public land and waters.
Any new changes implemented will be effective for the 2025-2027 regulatory years (April 1, 2025- March 31, 2027).
