A public hearing on the nuisance abatement of 604 East Front Street, and an ordinance confirming school budget approval, are on the agenda for Monday night’s Nome City Council meeting.
The ordinance is up for a vote and, if passed, will require Nome Public Schools (NPS) to provide its annual budget to the city by May 1st and will give 30 days for the city to decide on NPS funding for the upcoming school year. Other business tonight includes the appointment of Seat E on the Museum & Library Commission.
Tonight’s work session will focus on excise taxes on tobacco and marijuana products as potential new revenue for the city.
The Nome City Council Meeting starts their work session at 6pm tonight in council chambers, followed with a regular meeting at 7pm.
