Stebbins Man Released Without Incident after Alleged Alcohol Importation

A Stebbins man was released without incident after attempted alcohol importation to a local option community earlier this month.

Alaska State Troopers in Unalakleet were notified on May 20th that 27-year-old Derak Otton of Stebbins was allegedly endeavoring to transport alcohol to his home community.

Otton was contacted by AST while in Unalakleet. According to a Trooper dispatch, he was found in possession of alcohol, but was released. Troopers note that charges of importing alcohol and “common carrier violation” have been forwarded to the Office of Special Prosecutions and Appeals.
