Nome Man Out on Bail after Arrest for Alleged Heroin Sale

A Nome man is out on bail after an arrest by the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team last week.

On Thursday, May 18th, at 11:45 am, the Nome WAANT alerted Alaska State Troopers that 35-year-old William Mathisen, Jr., of Nome was seen riding down Front Street in a green Dodge truck.

Mathisen had an outstanding arrest warrant for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third and fourth degrees for alleged sale of heroin in Nome.

Troopers arrested Mathisen without incident on Thursday, May 19th, and he was remanded to the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center, until his arraignment at the Nome Courthouse Friday morning.

A representation hearing is scheduled for May 25th. He is currently out on $1,000 bail.
