Relatively warm temperatures (+20° F) greeted race fans and competitors at the start of the 2017 Nome-Golovin Snowmachine Race, which rocketed from the Nome sea ice at 12noon on Saturday.
Final race results are still pending as of 3pm Saturday. (Many, but not all, of the competitors have already reached the finish line, but final results will depend on race officials calculating and confirming racers’ starting time differentials.)
Full results, when available, will be posted online and read on-air.
