Nome Port Commission to Decide 2017 Tariff Rates

The Nome Port Commission is conducting its yearly review of the Port of Nome tariff tonight in a special work session. Commissioners will decide on 2017 tariff rates. They are considering a proposed increase of either 5 or 10 percent, which would be the fourth increase in rates in the last five years.

Following the work session, there will be a regular meeting of the Port Commission to discuss changes to the Middle Dock extension project. The Orion Marine Contractors have requested additional time to complete the project. If approved, that extra work will take place in June 2017.

The Commission meets tonight at City Hall. The work session begins at 5:30pm and the regular meeting at 6:30pm.
