Nome, AK – The Nome Port Commission meets tonight for a special work session. Captain Ed Page of the Marine Exchange of Alaska will discuss proposed parameters for vessels operating at the Port of Nome.
The Marine Exchange of Alaska (MXAK) is a non-profit maritime organization that assists ports in employing new safety measures.
MXAK has already conducted some preliminary research on the Port of Nome. Their research will result in new recommended rules for port navigation, which could be adopted into the tariff this winter.
The Port Commission meets this evening at 5:30 pm in City Hall.
