Search and Rescue Saves Nome Men

Two men were safely rescued this past weekend after an ATV incident outside of Nome.

Michael McNally and Matthew Barone, both 53 years of age, were rescued by the Nome Search and Rescue team around 2:30 am Sunday morning, June 26.

Alaska State Troopers report the two Nome residents were stuck an estimated 30 miles northwest of Nome after their ATV had become disabled. Troopers received a report at about 8:45pm Saturday of an emergency locator beacon signal sent by the two men.

McNally and Barone were transported back to Nome by Search and Rescue. Both men were found safely with no injuries reported.
