It was a race to the finish for 4th and 5th place mushers Wade Marrs and Pete Kaiser in the bright sunlight Tuesday morning.
Marrs kicked, pulled, and even ran himself to finish under the Burled Arch just minutes ahead of Kaiser, clocking a total race time of 8 days, 20 hours, 22 minutes, and 2 seconds.
Bethel’s Pete Kaiser gained quite a bit of time on Marrs over the course of the last legs of the race, but just not enough, pulling under the Arch only minutes later. Kaiser finished the race in 8 days, 20 hours, 24 minutes, and 55 seconds, securing himself a top five finish.
