Student49: Tatiana Chanar

I have a strong sense of justice…I think, ‘This isn’t the way this is supposed to be’ and I get so passionate about it…that fight for something better is a huge part of my personality.

This month’s episode of Story49 is a special edition that we’re calling Student49. It features the story of Nome-Beltz High School sophomore, Tatiana Chanar. Throughout the half-hour segment, Tatiana reflects on what it’s like to be a teenager, discusses depression and presents her original “Self-Growth Guide” in hopes that it will help others realize their potential. Janet Amuktoolik, Tatiana’s mother, is also included in the segment talking about their relationship as mother and daughter. Youth have a lot to say, and it’s time we listen!
