Bishop Chad Zielinski’s Ordination Mass

After more than a year without an official leader, the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks will now be led by Bishop Chad Zielinski, an active duty military chaplain who was ordained Monday in Fairbanks.

Bishops from throughout the world, and priests, deacons, and parishioners from throughout northern and western Alaska traveled hundreds of miles to gather in celebration. The motto Zielinski has chosen to adorn his coat of arms is: “He must increase,” from the Gospel of John, when Jesus says, “He must increase. I must decrease,” referring to himself as a servant of God to the people. The new bishop plans to visit all the parishes in our diocese the coming months.

Listen to our news coverage of the event, or see the links below for the full Ordination Mass (narrated by KQHE Queen of Heaven and Earth Radio out of Fairbanks, AK).
