Since 2004, Safety Patrol has tried to keep Nome’s visitors safe during the town’s busiest seasons. Safety Patrol, a volunteer group organized by Kawerak Wellness and the Regional Wellness Forum, walks Nome’s streets to spot trouble before it happens and offer aid to those in need. Safety Patrol completed its 8th annual Permanent Fund Dividend watch this past weekend.
