Bio
Cindy lived in Fairbanks most of her life where she earned a BBA and a certified teaching certificate from UAF. She spent most of her free time raising money for non-profits: HIPOW, ice hockey, Kids Voting Alaska, March of Dimes, etc. These activities earned her the honor of a legislative citation from the State of Alaska in 1995. In the workplace she was always the United Way Share Campaign Coordinator. She moved to Anchorage about 20 years ago for a promotion with the State of Alaska.
As a University of Alaska Fairbanks alumni, and a retired government worker, she continued to work: 8 years for the Archdiocese of Anchorage in Faith Formation and then 8 years for a non-profit serving vulnerable families in Development.
She is an active member of her parish, taught 1st grade CCD for many years, serves on the planning circle of “The Women at the Well”, and is an Adrian Dominican Associate.
Her son (JD) is a Captain in the Coast Guard stationed in Washington D.C. and her daughter-in-law (Kiki) is an emergency room registered nurse.
When she’s not walking her poodles (Annie and Gracie) or wrestling with condo association business, you can find her experimenting with vegan meals, planting beautiful flowers, stretching out at the Pilates studio, or driving around in her Subaru with vanity plates “VOTE”.
